About Dr. Aquiles Alvarez

Dr. Aquiles Alvarez, MD, is a primary care physician providing care for adults and seniors with The Doctors Center in Jacksonville, Florida. With more than 20 years of experience in medicine, Dr. Alvarez offers thoughtful, relationship-based primary care with a focus on preventive health, chronic disease management, and supporting long-term wellness. He earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, and has spent his career caring for patients with attention to both physical health and emotional well-being.

Dr. Alvarez’s path into medicine was inspired by his father, also a physician, whom he accompanied to clinic visits as a child. Years later, volunteering in that same clinic helped him understand the joy he once saw on his father’s face—the fulfillment that comes from helping people heal. Compassion remains the value that guides his care today. He believes effective healing begins with recognizing discomfort and taking meaningful steps to relieve it, whether addressing illness or easing anxiety. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Alvarez is known for his calm, reassuring presence and human-centered approach. Outside the clinic, he enjoys road biking, a passion that supports his own health and balance.
